Updated I-69 road alignments to be presented at Nov. 16 public meeting Project managers will present latest highway alignment alternatives between Crane and Bloomington
Bloomington, Ind. - The public will get a chance to view revised plans for Section 4 of the federally approved I-69 corridor during a public meeting, 6 p.m., Nov. 16, at Eastern Greene High School located on State Road 54 just west of State Road 43. Section 4 of I-69 begins at U.S. 231, near Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center, and ends at State Road 37 south of Bloomington. The public is welcome to attend and will be given an opportunity to provide feedback after the main presentation. <more>
I-69 classified as a Major Moves project Solidifying transportation's critical role in Indiana's economic development strategy, Governor Mitch Daniels recently announced Major Moves, a 10-year, $10.6 billion transportation plan. The plan includes I-69 among other projects vital to the state's future prosperity. Go to INDOT's Web site to find out more about Major Moves. <more>
I-69 Section updates: The I-69 corridor from Evansville to Indianapolis is divided into six independent sections conducting separate environmental impact and engineering studies. While the studies for each section are being conducted simultaneously, each is progressing at a different pace based on the unique characteristics of the section. Check upcoming issues of Fast Lane for a brief update on each section. Go Here to learn more about each section including contact information for

- Sections 1 and 2 are nearing completion of environmental studies and have begun working on their Draft Environmental Impact Statements (DEIS).
- Sections 3 and 4 are continuing their environmental studies. Citizens in these sections (Daviess and Greene counties) may see scientists in the field researching and collecting data. Section 4 will have its second Public Information Meeting on Nov. 16.
- Sections 5 and 6 are continuing to review possible access alternatives and input from recent public information meetings.
